On the 3rd Monday of each month, we normally share an Innevator Spotlight, a post that highlights one of the wonderful companies we have working here at The Innevation Center. This month, however, we have a special treat for you all: we are highlighting all five of the Innevators nominated for TBAN Tech Nevada Honors Awards (in no particular order)! Check back each day this week for the Innevator Spotlight on Banjo, JusCollege, Paystr, RevUnit, and Sunny Tara of docBeat! We began our week-long series with Banjo followed by Paystr and JusCollege and today we focus on Sunny Tara of docBeat, a secure messaging app for healthcare professionals, nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year!
Sunny is Founder, Chairman, and CEO of docBeat. For more than 15 years, Sunny has been driving business results and achieving measurable value from IT-enabled transformation. He has held leadership positions within Fortune 500 companies including direct responsibility in the major disciplines of Technology, Enterprise Strategy, Innovation, and Leadership. He was responsible for many award-winning innovative solutions that have transformed brands.
DocBeat was conceived in 2010 when Cardiologist Dhiraj Narula MD met Sunny at a social event. Dr. Narula explained he was frustrated by the challenges of communicating with fellow healthcare professionals, which today still relies largely on answering services, faxes and pagers to connect clinicians to one another. Sunny was astounded. “After having created solutions that transformed brands, I was compelled to think about this problem that affects me, my family and everyone I knew. Many people may think of this as a communication problem but I think of this as a quality of care problem. If my physician can’t get to the right doctor or a right nurse at the right time, me and my loved ones may not be around!” Sunny said. “This gave me a purpose, a purpose that I feel very passionate about leveraging disruptive technologies to transform how physicians collaborate and communicate to lead a better quality of care.”
The TBAN Tech Nevada Honors winners will be awarded at 1OAK next Wednesday night @ 7 pm. If you would like to attend, head over to TicketCake to RSVP. For more information on the awards, check it out right here.
